Eugenia Malinnikova – Tromsø 2022 (Lecture)
Eugenia Malinnikova (born 1974), received her doctorate at St.Petersburg State University in 1999. In 2004 she was employed at NTNU, Trondheim, and from 2019 she is a professor at Stanford University, USA.
In 2017, she won the Clay Research Award together with Aleksandr Logunov for pioneering work on Laplace eigenfunctions that led to proofs of two major conjectures. In 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, she was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians, one of the most prestigious meetings of mathematicians. She was also an invited speaker at the European Congress of Mathematicians in 2020. And, in 2022, she gave a plenary lecture at the world gathering for women in mathematics.
Her research interests are in harmonic analysis, elliptic partial differential equations (PDEs) and potential theory. Recently she has worked with unique continuation of solutions to elliptic PDEs and their applications to Laplace eigenfunctions, and also with solutions of discrete elliptic equations.
